Optometry Tomorrow 2006 Conference set to be the biggest ever
Optometry Tomorrow 2006 Conference set to be the biggest ever
01 February 2006
This year’s Annual College Conference,
Optometry Tomorrow 2006, is attracting more interest than ever, with twice as many delegates registered compared with the same time last year.
Such has been the popularity of the eight “hands on” clinical workshops that places were booked up by early January and the College has added seven further workshops to help satisfy demand.
Similarly the College has expanded the
Optometry Tomorrow trade exhibition in order to accommodate new exhibitors. Over forty exhibitors are now expected to attend the exhibition, which will be open to non-delegates for the first time. Opening hours will be from 8:30am to 5:30pm on Sunday 2 April, and from 9am to 4pm on Monday 3 April.
An addition to this year’s Conference will be the Optometry Tomorrow 2006 Cyber Café (sponsored by See20/20), which will be open throughout the entire event, and will enable delegates and non-delegates to access email and surf the web. Members who have not yet registered on the CETOptics website will also be able to attend one-to-one CETOptics Registration Clinics run by College members of staff.
The
Optometry Tomorrow 2006 Gala Dinner (sponsored by Essilor Ltd) will take place on Sunday 2 April in the @Bristol visitor attraction and will begin with a Champagne Reception in the main Wildwalk exhibition area where guests will come face to face with amazing butterflies, exotic birds and have private access to Europe’s biggest walk-through coral reef.
College Marketing Manager, Richard Gott, commented,
“We have been delighted by the response to our 2006 Conference. The opportunity to gain CET points via a varied and fascinating lecture and workshop programme, to network with colleagues from across the country and to visit what looks like becoming a good-sized trade exhibition is proving really attractive to delegates. Optometry Tomorrow 2006 is likely to be the biggest ever annual College Conference.”
