Electronic Prescribing – draft functional specification for comments
Electronic Prescribing – draft functional specification for comments
22 August 2006
NHS Connecting for Health, the organisation responsible for delivering the National Programme for Information Technology, recently held a series of clinical engagement workshops to capture specialty-specific requirements for ePrescribing systems. More than 400 representatives from 34 different clinical specialties attended the workshops, including doctors, nurses, midwives and pharmacists.
The workshops have enabled NHS Connecting for Health to develop an initial draft ePrescribing functional specification and they are now looking to build a consensus around the content of the specification before it is made available to guide software equipment.
The College would encourage Members to comment on this draft. The feedback form and initial draft can be accessed
here. The closing date for submissions is 13th October 2006.
