OpenAthens is a service that allows you to use a single user name and password to access a range of electronic journals and other resources from any computer. It is not a generic password that provides access to all electronic resources, but only to those that each organisation has purchased on behalf of its members.
We offer access to twenty eight electronic journals via Athens, the majority of which are current subscriptions. These are marked with an asterix* on our journals list. Look for the OpenAthens login on the journal's website. (It is usually in the top right hand corner within the website login section.)
Members (qualified members and students in their pre-registration year only) who would like an OpenAthens user-name and password should contact the Library and Information Services Manager.
Please note that these resources will not be accessible with a College OpenAthens password. The BNF and BNF Children are however available to NHS staff in England, Wales and Scotland (but not Northern Ireland), and access is via an NHS OpenAthens login. Optometrists who are commissioned by the NHS are eligible to apply for an NHS OpenAthens password. You can apply online:
