Your next free member CET event in the Wales region will take place in Cardiff on Thursday 8 June from 6pm.
The evening will consist of an interactive lecture followed by a peer discussion.

The peer discussion session will help optometrists improve their standards of patient care by discussing cases that are based on real practice with a small group of fellow clinicians. Discussing various approaches among peers stimulates interest and broadens perspectives as different practitioners may approach clinical and ethical problems in different ways.
The peer discussion session is only open to fully qualified members. Students and pre-registration optometrists will not be able to attend the peer discussion, however are welcome to attend the lecture. Non-members are not permitted to attend the event.

Wales Millennium Centre
From the West (Swansea, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire etc)
Leave the M4 at junction 33. Join the A4232 and continue for about 9.3 miles. Leave the A4232 just before the Butetown Tunnel, signposted Techniquest. Continue along Stuart Street and turn right at the first set of lights. Wales Millennium Centre is in front of you.
From the North (Merthyr Tydfil, Brecon, Mid Wales, North West Wales)
Follow the A470 towards Cardiff until it turns into North Road/A470. Stay on North Road for about 4 miles, passing the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama on your right, until you come to a major junction, by the civic buildings, on your left. Turn left here onto A4161 (Boulevard de Nantes), go through the lights and follow the road around into Dumfries Place, continue in the centre lane, following the road around to the left , until you go under a railway bridge, then turn right at the first traffic lights onto Fitzalan Place. Turn right at the next traffic lights onto Adam Street, stay in the left lane and take the slip road onto the Central Link Road. At the first roundabout, take the first exit and keep in the left hand lane, keeping left at the next roundabout. At the traffic lights turn right. Major car park entrance is along this road on right hand side. From the car park just cross the road to the Centre.
From the East (Newport, Bristol, Midlands, London etc)
Leave the M4 at junction 29. and join A48 M. Stay on this road until the exit marked Docks. Follow road markings for city centre. As you approach city centre turn left at traffic lights into Fitzalan Place. Turn right at the next junction onto Adam Street, stay in the left hand lane and take the slip road onto the Central Link Road. At the first roundabout, take the first exit and keep in the left hand lane. At the traffic lights turn right. Major car park entrance is along this road on right hand side. From the car park just cross the road to the Centre.
Q-Park Cardiff Bay Car Park is located next to the venue. You can receive reduced parking for £3.60 for the duration of the event. To do this you must book in advance please call their ticket office on 029 2063 6464 to book your ticket.
The closest station is Cardiff Bay. You will need to change at Cardiff Central, go to Platform 6 for any train to Cardiff Queen St, crossing to Platform 1 for train to Cardiff Bay (every 12 minutes) which takes 4 minutes max.
Alternatively if you arrive at Cardiff Central there is a shuttle service (Cardiff Baycar, service No 6). The shuttle takes 8 minutes to arrive outside Wales Millennium Centre. The Baycar runs every 10 mins. Exit to the rear of the station, and cross the car park to the bus stop, in front of by the British Gas building. Please note exact change is required for this bus service.
Although the event is free of charge to College members, it is vital that you register in advance.
