Minor Eye Conditions Service (MECS)

 

Assessment days for Groups

The College offers MECS Part 2 assessment days for up to 135 candidates per day. We can offer a bespoke package according to your group requirements anywhere in the UK. We can provide the venue for you or deliver the assessment at your chosen location. Please read the MECS Venue Guidance which explains in detail the requirements to run the examination.

Who can attend the assessment?

This assessment is open to qualified optometrists who will have successfully completed the WOPEC MECS Part I assessment by the time they sit the MECS Part II assessment. More information on registering for the WOPEC MECS Part I lectures and assessment can be found in this document and on the WOPEC website.

How to book

COLLEGE MEMBERS

College members can click on the following links and to book their assessment using their email address and password.  

Email us to be alerted of the next assessment date.

BLOCK BOOKINGS

If you would like to make a block booking, complete the spreadsheet below and email it back to us. For more information, please call 020 7766 4358.

  1. Registration information request for non-members

Cancellation policy

Candidates can be removed from the examination free of charge up to six weeks before the examination date. Changes to the booking, such as swapping a candidate for another individual, can be made up to six weeks before the examination for a £10 administration fee. Cancellations less than six weeks before the examination date will incur the following fees:

  • cancellation three-six weeks before the examination date: 50% of fee(s) refunded
  • cancellation less than three weeks before the examination date: no refund of fee(s)
  • cancellations made on medical grounds will receive a full refund with receipt of medical evidence.
