Dr George Anthony Gibson BSc PhD MCOptom
Tony left Aston University in 2003 with a 1st Class Honours degree and qualified in 2004. He returned to Aston University in 2005 to study for a PhD which he gained in 2008.
Tony currently works in independent practice in Darlington and for the hospital eye service mainly in a consultant-led Glaucoma clinic and performing paediatric refraction. Tony is Vice Chair of the South of Tyne & Wear Local Optometric Committee and a committee member of the Durham LOC. Tony sits on the College's Research Committee.

Sarah Townsend BSc MCOptom
Sarah currently works as a locum Optometrist in the North East. She is a committee member on the Newcastle & North Tyneside Local Optical Committee. Previous roles include Optometric Advisor to Newcastle PCT. Input on local eye care development in Low Vision and Glaucoma. In the past Sarah has worked as a secondary grader in Northumberland's retinal screening service and as a Pre-Registration supervisor.
