College of Optometrists

Rob is the immediate Past President and a Trustee of the College of Optometrists. He is also a member of the GOC and a founder Board member of the newly-formed European Academy of Optometry & Optics. He is the Managing Director of iCare Consulting Ltd. (providing Clinical, Technical and Professional services and advice to the Optical Sector) and the UK Director of Operations for the PowerPractice.

Francesca is a self-employed optometrist working in the West Midlands/Warwickshire area, for both multiple and independent practices. She has previously worked as a part time lecturer/clinical demonstrator at Aston University. Francesca works at the "Midland Eye Institute" in their refraction clinics. She has recently been appointed secretary to the Warwickshire LOC and is an AOP Councillor for the Midlands.

Shamina qualified from Aston University in 2004 with a 1st class honours. She is currently one of three resident Optometrists at Boots Opticians in the Merryhill Centre West Midlands and has supervised two Pre-registration students. Shamina has recently been appointed Chair of the Dudley LOC and is involved in the direct cataract referral service. She has been actively involved in promoting Optometry, having been featured in two articles in the Daily Mail - 'The £17 eye test that could save your life' and 'Want to live longer? See an Optician!'. Having achieved the best prize in elective studies at University, Shamina has a keen interest on the effect of nutrition and smoking on ARMD.
