  2. Career Development Loans Now Available to Pre-Registration Trainees

    The College is pleased to announce that it has become a Department for Education and Skills (DfES) approved Learning Provider. Pre-Registration trainees are now eligible to apply for Career Development Loans.

  3. CET Self-Certification Update

    The College's CET scheme is self-certifying and all Members will shortly receive a letter from the College asking for the number of CET points accrued in 2004.

  4. College Launches Search for New Council Members

    The College has this week invited nominations for candidates to stand for election to its Council. At the 2004 AGM, members voted to change the Colleges governance structure, creating a new-style Council, up to 40 members strong and elected on a regional basis, together with a smaller Board of Trustees.

  9. Consultation on Reform of the General Optical Council - The Colleges response

    The College welcomes the opportunity to comment on the suggested reforms as laid out in the draft Opticians Act (Amendment) Order 2004 and is supportive of the principles of streamlining procedures, and greater involvement of patients and the public, which lie behind the reforms.
