Is Optometrist Prescribing for Me?

This section provides information for optometrists who are new to prescribing and are still considering whether it would be the right course of action for them.  Below can be found a ‘First Steps’ guide to all the areas which you should consider before embarking on prescribing training, in addition to some case studies of optometrists already practicing in prescribing, and the contact details of non-medical prescribing leads within the commissioning bodies who can provide advice and guidance on identifying optometrist prescribing opportunities in your area.

FIRST STEPS

A Guide has been produced for optometrists considering whether to undergo training to become prescribers, outlining those aspects which would assist in reaching an informed decision.
