We are looking for volunteers to take part in clinical workshops at Optometry Tomorrow (16 and 17 March), our annual conference in York. Volunteers will receive a £25 fee per session and refunded travel expenses.

We have updated our guidance on examining a patient who complains of flashes and floaters. The guidance is part of our Code of Ethics and Guidance for Professional Conduct, which sets out good optometric practice and the standards patients can expect from UK optometrists.

We held our first Research Excellence lecture on Monday 3 February at The Royal College of Physicians. The guest speaker, world-renowned Professor Larry Thibos from Indiana University, USA, presented his lecture on retinal imaging - From optics to vision: the ultimate challenge.
