    The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) are introducing regulations that will entitle people to the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA) if they have been certified as severely sight impaired or blind by a consultant ophthalmologist and they have either: • A corrected visual acuity of less than 3/60 or • A corrected visual acuity of 3/60 or more, but less than 6/60, together with a complete loss of peripheral visual field and a central visual field of no more than 10 degrees in total.
