Exceptional circumstances

In normal circumstances, a Trainee must complete the Scheme for Registration

a) within two years and three months of their date of enrolment on the Scheme for Registration; or
b) on their fourth attempt at the Final Assessment, whichever occurs first

However, under exceptional circumstances, at the absolute discretion of the College, the trainee may:

a) extend the allotted time if the trainee has been prevented from or has been unable to complete the Scheme for Registration

Where a trainee seeks an extension to the allotted time, they must submit an application within a reasonable time setting out:

(i) The reason for an extension; and
(ii) The length of the extension requested (together with any supporting evidence.)

b) apply to begin the Scheme for Registration one further time

Where a trainee seeks to begin the Scheme for Registration one further time, they must submit an application within a reasonable time setting out

(i) The reason for wishing to begin the Scheme for Registration one further time (together with any supporting evidence.)

Cases are considered on an individual basis by the Appeal Panel. Find below the 2016/7 deadline dates for applying for Exceptional Circumstances and the subsequent hearing dates. Applicants will be notified of the outcome within 5 working days of the Panel meeting date:
