Optometric Workforce Survey

The Optometric Workforce Survey has now closed.  Submissions are now being collated for analysis.

This project will survey the optometric profession to gather a clear picture of its current form.

There has not been a comprehensive survey of the profession since the Manpower survey of the late 1990s. There are a range of other sources of data relating to optometric practice and provision, but these do not appear to be sufficient.

This project will gather detailed information about the individual optometrists making up the profession, their patterns of practice, training and experience, career trajectory and future intentions. This will be extremely useful in providing a clear profile for the profession as it is now and some insight into potential future changes and challenges that the profession and its members may face.
