Summary

This framework is aimed at supporting Local and Area Optometric Committees in discussing service developments with their primary care organisations. The aim of the document is to increase the level of optometric involvement in the provision of low vision services. The document recognises the benefits of the multidisciplinary approach in which many professional groups work together as a team to provide an improved service to the visually impaired with the optometrist being an equal and integral member of this team.
