prism adaptation
Mar 22, 2005 19:03:13 to prescribe prism in a decompensating phoria, you would have to do a prism adaptation test, is this right? to makesure they are still aligned on fixation disparity after a few minutes with the prism? |

RE: prism adaptation
Mar 22, 2005 21:21:34 Would you prescribe a prism? First try all the other options..Rx, Exercises, Spheres, etc. Prisms would be a last option. Depends on age too. What would you do if you did your test and the px was adapting? Give more??? |

RE: prism adaptation
Mar 23, 2005 19:09:39 you woulnt give the prism if px prism adapted. i agree, better to prescribe Rx, orthoptics, and prescribe spheres. but if that doesnt work then use prisms. in hyperphoria, difficult to do exercises so prism may be best option. they are unlikely to prism adapt if they have a decompensating phoria though. |
