Ringwood is a very affluent market town just on the edge of the New Forest National Park, with Bournemouth and its beautiful beaches nearby. We have a very modern practice and possess the latest state of the art equipment. We are committed to proving the highest standards of optometry and customer service. We have a team of 13 staff which include my co-director Clive Butterfield, who is a Dispensing Optician and an ABDO College Examiner, our Store Manager Jason who is a Dispensing Optician, Tracey who is our Dispensing Optician and Contact Lens Fitter, and Thanuja who is our newly qualified Optometrist. I am a College Assessor, so I am in a good position to help train and support you. My aim would be to provide an enjoyable year, allowing you to progress at your own speed with full support as required, ultimately getting you through the PQE's first time. A first-class pre-reg year provides a strong foundation for the future and is what produces a good well-rounded optometrist. As a Specsavers pre-reg optometrist, you will benefit from Masterclass- the acclaimed distance learning course; Masterclinic- our unique residential course programme; the Professional Advancement Committee clinical conference- the largest event of its kind in Europe; along with the backing of a centralised pre-reg support office. We have very good links with local hospital eye departments and other specialist eye centres to help you gain suitable experience. Working for Specsavers has the advantage of working in a dynamic and individually run store, yet still offers all the support of being under the umbrella of the UK's largest and most successful optician. Ultimately the career progression ladder can also lead to a joint venture partnership for those who are capable and committed.
