For the routine, can I write down everything in the boxes that im going to be examining at the start? eg RFV, DV, NV, Lid, Lashes, Medium, Lens etc etc so that I will have less chance of nerves letting me forget to do it?

Also would it be acceptable to say to the px after ophthalmoscopy ''Bear with me a moment whilst I fill in the record card''?

Yes but this will be counted towards your 45 minutes.

Yes it would be acceptable to say to the px after ophthalmoscopy ''Bear with me a moment whilst I fill in the record card''.

That is just a matter of courtesy.

I'd also consider commenting to the patient (and by default the examiner)on what you are doing during ophthalmoscopy, as it is unbelieveably dull otherwise (for both patient and examiner).
