Any tips on recognising lamps (i not seen many :( ???

 

I think....

Tungsten Halogen - Pinch tips/ Nipples!

Most Discharge lamps - Arc tubes??

Metal halide - No control gear

High Pressure Sodium - suspension wires

Low Pressure Sodium - Cigar shaped?

 

Please Help!!!!

you can also get linear tungston halogen lamp.

 

Low pressure sodium - street lamp

High pressure sodium - main street lamps, like in towns

 

Make sure u know the efficacy colour temps/CCT and lamp lifes.

Honey, rare to be given a high pressure lamp in the exam as risk of exploding if dropped. I was handed an induction lamp in the exam....no filament.

I went to B & Q to look at lamps and eye protectors - surprisingly useful especially if you ask for any catalogues!
