in a muscle palsy, with the GOOD eye fixating, are the sequelae

1) o/a of contralateral synergist

2) u/a of contralateral antagonist

3) contraction(o/a) of ipsilateral antagonist, and

4) o/a of ipsilateral synergist?

or is this the sequelae when the paretic eye fixes? i have two sets of notes that contradict each other.

thanks

Sequalae same, whatever eye is fixing. Although degree of o/a or u/a may vary.

If good eye fixing - dominant changes in bad eye

o/a of ipsi antagonist (contracts as EOM short for long period)

u/a of ipsi agonist

If bad eye fixing - dominant changes in good eye

o/a of contra synergist (contracts as short for long period))

u/a of contra antagonist
