for someone with v high rx, without high astigmatism is it possible to order fresnel lenses to stick over plano lenses? Ive seen this done in hospital with people who really dont like thick specs, and just wondered if it was an option in daily practice?

theoretically possible i guess, and perhaps better than no glasses at all, but in terms of abberations and quality of vision fresnel lenses will not give anything like the image quality of a normal optical lens - personally I think well dispensed and glazed plus or minus tens would look better than the equivalent fresnel.

As a HES optometrists I can understand you doing it as a trial or temporarily whilst waiting for surgery but long term it wouldn't be something I'd be likely to recommend.
