I saw a px with a macula hole, I didnt do a full eye examination as I just referred to the HES, would this be ok for a case record or would i be expeced to do a full eye examination?

why did you not complete the examination? I ask this both for my own interest, but I imagine its also the sort of thing a case records examiner might ask. When you are referring a pt same day urgently, eg. retinal detachment abandoning the examination could be justified, but not so sure about a macular hole.

what do you mean you didn't do a full examination? do you mean you didn't do a refraction?

Just referred to HES? You'll be asked about how urgent was your referral and why? What can the HES do about this? Did you do things like Amsler? Where you sure of your diagnosis?

could see on the fundus camera it was a macula hole, supervisor told me just to refer it, not an emergency but soon and then do examination when they come back after seeing the ophthalmologist.

Not a bad call, I think. Mac holes can do better after removal of epiretinal membrane (don't ask me why) but it needs to be done within a few weeks of onset. But a refraction and a good look at the other eye would have been nice for your case records - could have had coexisting pathology, although not relevant. The other eye is at increased risk.
