I am not entirely sure of all the courses-papillitis and papilloedema would be two, tumours--any other suggestions? I am not sure if disc swelling would cause blurry disc margins

courses?

papillitis / papilloedema = inflammation at the disc / swelling = blurry disc margins

(papilloedema reserved for inflammation secondary to raised intracranial pressure)

papillitis = several different origins (including the tumour that you so much love, ref http://www.monoptica.com/monoptica/students/talk/reply.asp?ID=9360&Reply=9360)

some conditions, in my opinion, mimic the above, including high hypermetropia, myelinated nerve fibres, disc drusen
