RE: CL exam
May 18, 2005 20:27:11 I think I might take some of the lenses that i'm used to fitting. You're more likely to know the parameters of these and the fitting characteristics on the eye.
If you bring out your own lenses it guides the examiner to ask about these lenses instead of some that they are familiar with. I think you need all the ques you can get to guide the examiner into territory that you are familiar with. It shows that you have really thought about the exams and not just turned up on the day with no idea what lenses you're going to fit. If you pull out a lens that they don't normally fit and teach them something about it you are going to impress them!! Nothing to complicated though! |

RE: CL exam
May 21, 2005 07:59:05 I will certainly be impressed if a candidate pulls out a soft lens in the exam and teaches me something about it! However I wil be happy if they simply have a reasonable knowledge of a range of soft lenses adequate to fit a significant range of patients.
It is perfectly acceptable to take along some soft lenses for fitting. Please make sure you do know at least as much as the examiner about them though! |
