Ask CIBA for a copy of their Guide To Corneal Infiltrative Conditions which is excellent at helping differentiate between different types of corneal ulcers/infiltrates.

Otherwise you could try looking some of the VG books available relating to CL Comlications.

These term are often used incorrectly, and at the risk of misusing them myself,

Keratitis

An inflammation of the cornea, i.e corneal infiltrates are present.

Corneal ulcer

An epithelial lesion with associated destruction of surrounding tissue (stroma). Clinically, I also include an epthelial defect with underlying infiltrates. A corneal ulcer invariably causes inflammation - i.e. an ulcerative keratitis.
