there is a increased chance of corneal decompensation in some predisposed patients with cataract surgery, what does corneal decompensation mean and how does it happens??

this is what i personally think... bcos the endothelial cells dont regenerate, damage to them can lead to breakdown of the endothelial pump and everything goes haywire. it could happen during surgery, with direct damage from probes, or postoperatively by intraocular remnants. i presume pxs with fuch's dystrophy are high risk.
