case records resit
Jul 16, 2005 21:42:05 Writing case record about Px with acute anterior uveitis. I had not done refraction for this Px before sending her urgently (same day) to HES. Examiners mentioned this in their feedback as incorrect action. I still think that dilating Px and doing slit lamp investigation were my priority in this case ( rather than quick ret and subjective). Any opinions on this? Many thanks. |

RE: case records resit
Jul 17, 2005 10:49:33 Sounds like you did the right thing to me, why would you subject some one in pain to a refraction? Was this the only one you failed if so try an appeal. |

RE: case records resit
Jul 17, 2005 20:43:25 Many thanks to all. I am thinking about appealing but not sure whether was there ever chance to overturn examiner's decision? Otherwise, I am just going to waste £80. |

RE: case records resit
Jul 17, 2005 20:50:00 well it depends on how many re-sits you have,if you have lots, knocking one on the head for £80 will be well worth it |

RE: case records resit
Jul 17, 2005 22:04:07 If this really is the only reason, you should appeal!! It would be just silly to try and refract a Px in such pain and results would be rubbish anyway, however if you took visions and pin hole acuity and sent to A&E you did your job. I would be more bothered if you did a full refraction. |
