hey folks

Just about to try get the books back out to study for resit - i failed contact lenses on RGP fit. I see very few RGP's in practice. Does anyone have any ideas where i can get more experience? I am in the Glasgow area.

Cheers

hey!! i called the company from which i got my fitting set and they sent me out some random RGPs they had lying around

now all u need is a victim to put them in! i got my supervisor to select lenses and just hand them to me so i had no idea what parameter i was looking at and assessed it from here,,,, worked for me! Gud luck

well i didnt do any fits during the pre-reg year, but i used the guide given in the contact lens practice ( gasson and morris) i found it excellent. It gives u a break down of what features u should be assessing (eg apex, and periphery etc) and finally concluding the fit.

get your brother or your mother ... a few drops of proxy and start popping in a few lenses. are they steep, are they flat? do they centre well? is movement vertical or circuitous?
