I found some diplopia on motility in superior left gaze (oblique), which i could see objectively. In the absence of any other findings or symptoms, is any further action neccessary?

I tried motility on myself and noticed a bit of doubling in the same position. i am a high myope and so was my px.

in general, if you find something iffy going on with bv and you can't get a handle on what it might be, should you refer if it is not causing any problems for the px?

ethically this is covered in the goc new guidelines, the college ethic guide also talks of this.

Everyone is entitled to a second opinion, and you have to acknowledge yr own competance and arrange a second opinion when its not in yr area of experience.

that does not mean that you can't explore the area of concern with the px and try together to work out a care plan, for example you could decide together to monitor it together prior to deciding if referal is needed.
