Northumbria and North Durham AOP
Aug 21, 2005 09:33:48 Northumbria and North Durham AOP have asked me to notify pre-reg trainees based in the North East of a series of lectures they are holding in the region.
The lectures are open to all pre-reg students from any area, there is no cost for their entry - although obviously they don't gain CET credits.
The lectures are held monthly in the James Spence insitute at the Royal Victoria infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne. This year the lectures will start at 7pm.
The topics and lecturers we have booked are as follows:

September 13th - "Eye Casualties" by Mrs Ray-Chaudhuri. Consultant Opthalmolgist, RVI.
October 4th - "Wavefront- past present and future". by Mr M Korolkiewicz. clinical services manager at ultralase.
Novemeber 1st - "The Eye in Parkinsonian disorders" . by Mr Tim Wilson. Consultant Neurolgist RVI.
Decemeber 6th - "Strabismus" by Mr R.W.Allchin. consultant Ophthalmolgist. Sunderland eye infirmary.
January 10th - " An update on Ophthalmic lenses" by Mr P Hadwin. Lumley Optical.
February 7th - "Diabetes" by Mr Deady. Consultant Ophthalmologist, SEI.
March 7th - "Sports vision" by Mr A Wade. Chairman of local AOP, and local optometrist.
April 11th - "Uveitis" by Mr Nick Strong. Clinical director and consultant ophthalmologist, RVI.
