Ishaq this information is readily available in the leaflets that come with the RGP starter packs etc. More detailed information is available from contact lens textbooks on the purpose of individual chemical components and the internet is also an excellent resource.

The main difference between soft and gp solutions is the gps solutons haing protein disolvers and also its tonicity. Soft cl solutions are designed to soak into the body of the lens are slowly disinfect it. The solution is designed to be compatable with tears in terms of PH (to reduce sting) and not be too sticky although several makes include substances which make the lenses slippery on insertion. GP solutions don't soak into the lens - so can be stronger in terms of disinfector - some have more than one disinfector, although the common disinfector is the same as soft lenses. GP lenses need to have a protien disolver as they are not disposable like softs. GP lenses some times have a seperate cleaner, and will be rinsed in saline. They have high tonicity to allow cushioning of the lenses to make them comfy in insertion.
