yes,I meant apart from the normal opthalmic list products included the new level 1, which other products non- conventional could an OO practice sale? As Pharmacies can sale and supplies CL's We should be able to diversify??

Aug 04, 2005 10:54:44 From MHRA guidance, we can sell all GSL and P medicines providing that it is in the course of our professional practice.
Eyedrops certainly, and a list of typical P medicine examples has been produced by the MHRA, though this is not binding. Other GSL or P medicines could be supplied if it could be justified that it was "in the course of optometric professional practice." I think it would be difficult to make a case for cough mixtures or contraception, but there is some scope for interpretation.
nb. as we become responsible for Px after supply, at present the College recommends that supply should usually follow an eye examination.
