CIBA Vision update
Aug 04, 2005 15:47:41 Since the new regulations on supply of contact lenses took effect on June 30 this year, there have been some interesting comments posted on this site – some of them in reference to us here at CIBA Vision.
This is to let you know that we have followed the discussions closely and have taken aboard all the relevant points raised. In addition, CIBA Vision has also been listening closely to its customers through many face to face conversations, through an advisory panel of opticians that was set up some time ago and also through large scale quantitative research.
People quite rightly feel passionate about the issues surrounding deregulation and the debate is likely to continue for some time.
Most of the recent comments on this site regarding CIBA appear to have come from independent opticians. Howard Barnes will personally be writing to all our independent customers to address the important issues that have been raised, and to inform them of the first steps we are taking to support the independent optician through this time of change.
My thanks to those who have expressed comments on these issues via this website. |

RE: CIBA Vision update
Aug 04, 2005 16:57:05 This had better be really good, most of us think he should fall on his sword. You have cocked up big time. If the indies desert you your only clients will be SSavers and the Supermarkets, and who do you think are the toughest negotiators?
Dont insult us a second time or its all over |

RE: CIBA Vision update
Aug 04, 2005 20:33:18 the reason most of the comments have been from indies is because your crazy skewed pricing system puts us all at a massive disadvantage compared to multiples! speed is of the essence arlo, every day more and more practices are deciding not to buy your product. |

RE: CIBA Vision update
Aug 05, 2005 20:21:24 Interesting comments and views so far huh arlo?. a lot of us haven't yet decided which way our practices are going to swing and are very keen for Ciba's so called remedy to this situation. i just hope that that the playing field is more fair as i do genuinely like your products. the recent advances in the material changes and the comfort it brings to my patients is of paramount importance to me. Your company has to realise that we can't continue trading with products which bring in no profit even if i charge the appropriate fee for my consultation. You see i need the PROFIT to help pay for rent, rates, salaries,my holidays and ofcourse my expensive car etc etc. I will eagerly await the new trading and hopefully profitable terms of the new re-born Ciba Vision. |
