I use the Nidek NT3000 in practice and sod's law has it that we've lost the manual, my supervisor doesn't know anything about it except for the fact that it 'corrects astigmatism in 3 axes'. Can anyone please tell me where I can get information on the workings of this tonometer, esp. how to calibrate it.

you can contact them via their site...they should be able to email you the manual in adobe reader or such format.
