we have two optoms at our practice, both are owners of the practice but we've been given one list number..does anyone know if thats correct. do we both use the same list number if we are working elsewhere as a locum???

sounds as if they are both down as practice contractors. Sounds odd - I would phone yr PPC ophthalmic finance and ask. There has been a few hick ups.

it's correct, the contractor can be only under one number, but the optom number ( is individual number ) so you can use that for locum as well.

In other words you only have the contract number( practice) at the moment( don't used for locum ), call your local PPC for each individual optom ( suplementary list).

I'm not sure that picasso is quite correct. I am a contactor and my number is based on my GOC number plus a suffix for the PCT area. When I carry out locum work this is the number I have been told to use, I am not on the supplementary list.

Yes ajc7, I have 2 numbers:A) one the practice as corporate Business with GOC number wich is the contractor which can claim any work done in the practice even by other opticians.

B) my own GOC number as OPtom so I can work for the practice and as a locum for different contractors ( supplementary list).

You can be the same in one.( but limited business corporate registered with the GOC has the own number and are usually the contractor)
