I just wondered how the new CET requirements are affecting the optical proffessionals.are most people on track? There seems to be alot of contributory CET events going on at the moment.

I'm a little upset that 30 cet points were removed earlier in the year from my account .......I reckon they cost around £2k if you include time out. This was never agreed in the early days.

I lost lots of points but have got plenty. As a CLO we get no funding at all so its even worse for us but there are plenty free cet events and articles on offer

The "clawed back" issue is, I feel, a disgrace. In any other profession heads would have rolled for a blunder like that. And the points would have been given back, too. But I agree with as and momo - there are loads of points out there, many free, and nobody should have to fall short.

I already have 37, all gained for free within the last 12 months.... (accidentaly overshot but nevermind!)

When it comes to the CL points though, the cetoptics website doesnt record which are which for you - it really should be noting that seperately

If there is anyone from the GOC or the college or ABDO, then please make not of the feelings generally as this CET requirements should be a positive and an encouraging matter. Any comments from your house would be very welcomed by all in the proffession.
