Hoya
Oct 13, 2005 20:10:18 Hoya have a range on multifocal lenses. As I have not used them before i would like some opinions?
What are their lenses like and more importantly do they turn around glazed jobs in reasonable time?
Any other comments? |

RE: Hoya
Oct 13, 2005 22:36:27 I have always found hoya to be a good company and agree with patrick, their +ve power special surface jobe are second to none. Recently however, their service has been appauling as they are doing all the boots rx jobs. There is a severe shortage of reps and my business with them has dropped. Quote atleast 7/10 days on the prog lenses to avoid problems. I am sure that this current delays will be a short term thing. good luck |

Oct 14, 2005 21:21:59 The lastjob I ordered from Hoya was for my (optometrist) wife. Hoyalux ID lenses into a rimless frame. It came back in three pieces with the demo lenses still in and a bill for £180! needless to say I haven't used them since! I also found it impossible to get through on the telephone. The MD assures me he is trying to put things right?? |

RE: Hoya
Oct 15, 2005 19:34:57 the trick to get to lens chasing is to phone the frame dept and be put through. If you phone the glazing chasing dept - you sit on the phone all day. What a dogs dinner of a place! |

RE: Hoya
Oct 16, 2005 00:14:57 Hoya have for the last 23 years of me being in practice always offered excellent products at competitive prices, but lurch from reasonable service to the most appaling. If any company is going to drop you in it for that really important job it has to be Hoya. |

RE: Hoya
Oct 16, 2005 17:59:45 Try buying Hoya products via your prescription house. I can get Hoya GP varifocals cheaper through an Rx house than I can getting them direct from Hoya, and the turn around is quicker!!! |
