Try a topcon mine is fab! Frankly they are all quite good we tried out loads before getting the topcon one, I recently had the camera back updated to digital and now its got a nikon digital camera back and i can zoom the image, quite good on smallish pupils too. The best advice is to try them and best place is BCLA or Optrafair if you can wait that long!

Had a look round at Optrafair, but it all got a bit overwhelming after a while!! The stands seemed very busy (I guess everyone getting kitted out for diabetic screening!) and I'm easily bored by too much technical info!! I'm sure I read a review in an Optician or OT a few months back, but that issue seems to have gone in with the recycling!!!

AC, if you are based near Manchester there happens to be an afternoon/evening session on this very subject....which camera to purchase? It is being held on the 24th October near stockport and is being run by a really switched on Optom called Trevor Warburton. For the benefit of Manchester, Salford, Trafford, Stockport Optoms on the local diabetic schemes, they might permit you to attend if outside the area.

Nicola, I also have topcon, but sometimes find black shadow in image, even with reasonable pupils (mainly on plus Rx) How do you zoom,? sounds useful

You can only zoom in on the image in the computer package i have not on the camera its self like you used to be able to on the old non digital ones. I find if you get the px to cover the other eye with their hand to dilate the pupil or shut both eyes just before taking the shot gives a bit more dilation in the smallish pupil px.
