Does anyone have any figures on what percentage of CL sales are sold through the internet?In my opinion its not even into double figures.

I think you are correct between 5-10%. Probably is growing

it is low at the moment, i would be more worried about the supermarkets.

if the internet companies have such a small market share and therefore little buying power how comes the suppliers have been so keen to sell to them at rock bottom prices?

i wouln not call post optics, specsavers online or tesco online small,they all have massive buying power.

Mark Draper from Ciba covered this in his Sight Care talks. It is going up, I think it is about 3% at present. His comparisons with the US market were interesting, stating that pharmacys and supermarkets don't stock C/L due to the large amount of shelf space necessary. You can probably get a transcript from Sight Care

well I work for Axxa - and every px has heard of our internet website - but very few seem to use it. Maybe it will grow. THose that have been on the website - have also looked arround at post optics and tesco as well.
