After reading the 1989 Sight Testing (Examination and Prescription)(No. 2) Regulations on the GOC website, am I correct in assuming that a patient's prescription does not require a signature by a registered optometrist or medic???

gosh ! - you have me thinking there. I will have to look it up! You have got me!! :-)

I have never heard of a prescription veing valid without the signature and current contact lens Rx's certainly need all the prescribers details as well as a signature.

I asked within College for you - and they think that the law is one thing - but ethically you would sign a prescription anyway.
