Why is it that you getter a better fundus view through media opacities with indirect technique than direct?

-its to do with the way the image focus works

-partly because it gives a shallow depth of focus - the opacities are well out of focus.

-partly because the image system is focused at the pupiliary plane (so only passes through a smal art of the opacity). If you recall, the direct field of view is limited by the pupil and the indirect is limited by the condenser diameter.
