FAO Tim Hunter
Mar 13, 2005 11:29:18 I attended your lecture at the Bradford revision course on low vision and you recommended Christine Dickinson's book. Having been able to retrieve my copy from a former university colleague I was wondering if there were any particular chapters or topics you would recommend reading before my exams next week. It is obviously a very technical book and I don't think I'll be able to seive the relevant knowledge out for my PQEs without a little guidance.
Thanks for the informative lecture and any help would be appreciated. |

Mar 13, 2005 20:44:12 You need to know everything! The examiners can pick any topic...Tim may have his favourites but what are the chances of him examining you!

Mar 13, 2005 22:32:12 examiners also know that your exposure to the subject may be limited. Know your definitions, basics about magnification, use of hand, stand, etc. and be prepared to talk about what you can do in practice to help people. You are not expected to be doing hospital lva clinics on a regular basis. |

Mar 15, 2005 07:43:45 I won't be examining in PS in the first set this year but hopefully won't see you in the re-sits in Bradford when I will be.
Worth reading the "technical" stuff on hand, stand and telescopic magnification and the revised routine chapter. Personally I would recommend reading it all if you have the time but that's the bare minimum! |
