ODA Exam and contact lenses
Jul 08, 2006 23:02:15 Please could pre-reg's and examiners tell me what they think I should learn for the contact lens part of the ODA exam? I am not sure what to learn for this part of the exam. Thanks. |

RE: ODA Exam and contact lenses
Jul 10, 2006 07:44:22 Contact lens induced pathology would be a good idea as there may be a patient with a contact lens induced problem in the ODA stations exam. |

RE: ODA Exam and contact lenses
Jul 10, 2006 10:15:57 A good book for this is Effron's Contact Lens Problems. Acute problems are dry eye and tear fil changes that cause smearing and deposits infections immune problems epitheliopathy (stain patterns) allergic effects Slow-onset problems are hypoxia lid thickening and dropping (mild secondary ptosis) dry eye corneal warping and blurring = you need to have strategies for all this. I will look about for articles on the internet for you. -good luck ! Steve (I remember doing my CL exams - it was nor that bad really, looking back on it. But I was jolly nervous! Funily enough - at the exam centre - I never saw anyone I already knew. Where were they all?). |
