prism, accommodation
Nov 20, 2006 16:44:23 Hi does anyone know how how you split prism which is to be dispensed, apart from just splitting it equally between the two eyes or deciding what looks cosmetically better - does ocular dominance come into this at all? Also what can lead to a difference in the amplitude of accommodation between two eyes? |

Nov 30, 2006 21:19:59 prism splitting is just done for cosmesis and frame practical reasons. Ocular dominance does not come into this. A difference in AoA between the eyes would suggest a reduction in ciliary innervation.(III nerve) It could also occur in Tonic pupil and anisocoria, accidental instilation of a substance that has anti muscarinic action. It can also happen in anisometropia |
