Few Q's regarding the CL Exam section:

Cl Fitting:

1. Do we have to do an over-refraction for the fitting?

2. Do we have to record the power of the lens we want to order?

Cl Aftercare:

1. Do we have to check the VA's?

2. Should we do keratometry and NITBUT?

Thankyou.

Hi

1 - yes

2) yes -you will need to write the power and spec of the lens.

Aftercare 1) yes -but you don'y have to over refract.

2) yes to both. You have to check that the anterior eye has sufficient health to allow the fit, so that will mean NITBUT, tear prisms, check for blepharitis, check for alergy by looking under the lids, checking for infections etc)

Sorry Steve is incorrect on this you do not have to do an over refraction in the fitting or aftercare section of the PRP final assessment exam. 2. Do we have to record the power of the lens we want to order?

Yes, otherwise your specification is meaning less!

Cl Aftercare:

1. Do we have to check the VA's?

Depends on the examiner, you do not have to do an over refraction but you should certainly say you would measure VAs and do overrefraction and then the examiner can say carry on or miss that bit out depending on timing. 2. Should we do keratometry and NITBUT?

No you will have Ks provided for the fitting section and you will not have time in the aftercare, sensible to say that you would a s an additional test, BUT with flourescein you should do as part of your AC anyway, you will probably not have time or the equipment to do a formal NITBUT and it is not a requirment in order to pass.
