Few questions
Aug 10, 2007 22:25:03 1/ if you are not getting reliable answers when doing the duochrome (especially with older px)what would you do, do you just do the cross cyl with the duo on the red or you add lenses until the it becomes green or equal, and then do the cross cyl. 2/ is it ok to use the hack technic (described in optometric books)when doing the subjective refraction (it is kinf of binocular refraction that i have been using all year. It save me a lot of time, the patient is binocular balanced at the end of the subjective. |

Aug 13, 2007 06:25:13 1/ if you are not getting reliable answers when doing the duochrome Don't do it, push the plus and only give minus if there is a definite improvment. I am an unreliable patient on duochrome and you would have to rely on the +1.00 blur test etc to make sure you hadn't overminused me 2/ is it ok to use the hack technic (described in optometric books)when doing the subjective refraction (it is kinf of binocular refraction that i have been using all year. It save me a lot of time, the patient is binocular balanced at the end of the subjective. I've never heard of it but if it gives you an accurate result and you understand how it works and can explain it to your assessor and examiner to their satisfaction then you should be OK. |
