when doing sclerotic scatter,

after decoupling the slit lamp, moving the beam onto the limbus and looking thru the eyepiece at the central cornea, will you see the glow around the limbus thru the eyepieces??

cos i neva can! it only is visible when you look at the eye directly (i.e. not through the eyepieces). is this correct or am i doing it wrong?

The point of decoupling is that you can focus on the area you are concerned about that may demonstrate scatter e.g. central oedema

You would not expect to be able to see the peripheral cornea if you are viewing the central cornea.

You will see the ring around the limbus when you decouple yourself from the illumination system by looking around the eye piece.
