Why is it better to measure max pupil size with the Burton lamp??

Also, why does it have a space for PD on the CL fit exam sheet? Do we have to specify centre thickness and handling tint for RGP fit section?

Because the lens flouresces in UV light and you can see the pupil size even in dark irises.

Pupil size is useful for assessing an appropriate BOZD for RGP lenses. Not sure what value PD has.

Centre thickness is only specified if you want it outside the manufacturers normal parameters for that lens. If you don't specify a handling tint you won't get one or you may get one you didn't want.
