The College of Optometrists has written to the Secretary of State for Health, Alan Milburn MP, to express disappointment that the money allocated for the profession's continuing professional development scheme (DOCET) has not been increased. A meeting to discuss the matter has been requested.

This year the College's AGM and CET day will be held in Newcastle at the Marriott Hotel, Gosforth Park on Monday 22 April. The programme contains a mix of clinical and non-clinical subjects with a maximum of 4 CET credits available. Places are limited, and are filling fast, so book your place soon.

The College has appointed 14 Regional Liaison Officers. The new officers attended an induction day at the College on Tuesday 19 February 2002, where they met College Council Chairmen and secretariat, and saw firsthand the work that is currently going on at the College.
