Early Booking Offer for College Conference Soon to Expire

The early booking offer for the College of Optometrists conference in Liverpool on Sunday 17- Monday 18 November 2002 will expire on 26 April 2002 - until this date, there is a reduced booking rate of £250 (College member rate).

This rate offers excellent value for money for an event that offers 15 CET credits, of which 2.5 are contact lens related. Lecturers who will be speaking at the event include Professor Colin Blakemore, Director of the Oxford Centre for Cognitive Neuroscience, who will be speaking on Visual Plasticity. Professor Peng-Tee Khaw, who is the Professor of Wound Healing and Glaucoma Studies at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Institute of Ophthalmology, University College London, will be speaking on his research into the prevention of blindness due to ocular scarring following surgery. Other lecture topics include laser refractive surgery, ocular infections, glaucoma, visual electrophysiology and strabismus management.

There will also be workshop sessions on both days that will cover topics such as Orthokeratology, Interpretation of Visual Fields, Binocular Vision, Co-Managed Care, Learning Disabilities and Record Keeping.

Delegates registering before 26 April 2002 are eligible to pay the reduced early booking rate of £250 (non-College members £325). After this date, the cost is £300 (£385 for non-College members). The cost for post-graduate students is £150. The Conference dinner will be hosted at Liverpool's Town Hall, and tickets cost £60.
