College Conference Theme Announced - Funding the Future

To mark the 25th Anniversary of the College Postgraduate Research Scholarship Fund, Professor Bernard Gilmartin will lead a lecture entitled ‘Funding the Future’ at next year’s College Conference.

 

The one-hour lecture will begin with a brief insight into the past 25 years of the fund and what it has helped researchers to achieve. Three recently funded researchers will give ten-minute presentations followed by a question and answer session:

  • ‘Effects of nutritional supplements on visual function in normal and low vision due to ARMD’ presented by Hannah Bartlett, Aston University
     
  • ‘Dependency of contour interaction upon target contrast and crowding bar contrast’ presented by Anneli Demberg, Glasgow Caledonian University
     
  • ‘Accommodative dysfunction in children with cerebral palsy’ presented by Julie McClellend, University of Ulster

The remaining seven funded researchers will present their recent work/findings in the form of a poster presentation during the morning break and lunch on the Sunday. Handouts will be available on request in the presentation area.

 

1-Day Conference Tickets are available to Members for £140 (£180 to Non-Members) and 2-Day Conference Tickets are available to Members for £260 (£300 to Non-Members).

 

A Jubilee Dinner will take place at the Imperial War Museum North on Sunday 20 March. Tickets are available to Members and Non Members for £65 (including VAT) and block bookings of ten or more people are available on request.
